St. Mary’s Home Core Programs and Services
  • Residential Treatment

St. Mary’s Home Residential Treatment
  • Serves children removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect and who cannot receive treatment in less restrictive settings
  • Serves 44 children
  • Provides 24 hour supervision
  • Provides group, individual and some family therapy
  • Provides educational services
  • Provides mental and physical health services
  • Provides socialization, recreational and spiritual services
  • Serves children for an average length of 12 months
  • Provides continuum of services based on children’s needs
  • Aims to move children to less restrictive settings
  • Serves males and females 6 to 18 years of age
St. Mary’s Home Crisis Stabilization
  • Provides evaluations consisting of social and functional components
  • Refers children to appropriate services and placements to reach their potential
  • Provides similar services of Residential Treatment
  • Serves up to 8 children
  • Serves children for 14 days
St. Mary’s Home Transitional Living Program
  • Provides homeless youth services to transition successfully into permanent housing
  • Provides counseling and skills training
  • Serves homeless youth 18 to 22 years of age who attend school and/or work, who meet HUD’s eligibility criteria for homeless, and who have not been in State custody
  • Collaborates with existing service providers to assist youth in gaining independence
  • Provides housing for up to 24 months
  • Provides supportive services and transportation assistance
  • Serves 4 to 6 young adults in supportive housing or community housing
  • Sets goal for all residents to find permanent housing
St. Mary’s Therapeutic Foster Care
  • Acquired program from Catholic Social Services in October 2005
  • Recruits and trains specialized families to provide care for children who cannot live at home and who do not require residential treatment services
  • Provides children and families 24 hour access to master level therapist and family consultant
  • Serves 24 children and their siblings
  • Provides monthly group therapy for the children and educational group sessions for the Therapeutic Foster Care parents
  • Provides support to the biological families with a permanency plan of reunification
St. Mary’s Home Educational Programs - Transitional Learning Center
  • Unique partnership with Mobile County Public School System and the State Department of Education
  • On-site classroom with a teacher from Mobile County Public School System
  • Program prevents children from expulsion from school
  • Program determines best school placement and educational level for the children
  • St. Mary’s Home social worker visits schools daily to ensure we serve the children’s educational needs
St. Mary’s Home Educational Programs - Trail Blazer Academy
  • On campus school for children in the intensive residential program who cannot be served safely in the public school system
  • Funded through State Department of Education and SMH
