By partnering with St. Mary’s Home in our mission to care for abused, abandoned and neglected children you can volunteer. Volunteers need only time to give and a caring heart.

By tutoring at St. Mary’s Home, you can help a child who is typically 2 years behind catch up academically. The encouragement you will provide by caring enough to help a child with his or her homework lasts much longer than a one hour study session.

By serving as a recreation aide, you can spend time with a child who needs one on one attention from someone special. Your example can teach the children sportsmanship plus the importance of teamwork and of trying one’s best regardless of ability.

By working on a service project, your church or civic group can reap the rewards and sense of accomplishment of helping others truly in need. Not only would your group teach the children the power of working together in a group and create a more homelike atmosphere for them, but you, your friends, and your colleagues may discover talents and ambitions about yourself and about each other.

By hosting parties or holiday celebrations, your church or civic group can provide the children with special moments in their lives and create lasting, positive memories for them and for you.

By applying for a student internship, you can fulfill your scholastic requirements while gaining invaluable hands on knowledge of best treatment practices of children in residential care.

By serving as a Foster Parent, you can open your home and heart to children who may never have experienced normal family life. Foster parenting is not fully voluntary as training, licensing and compensation are provided.

St. Mary' Home needs volunteers to help with the above opportunities year round. Other opportunities include answering the telephone, sorting donations, data entry, yard work and helping with special events.

To ensure that St. Mary’s Home continues to meet the needs of the abused, abandoned, and neglected children of our community for 170 more years, please contact Andy Rehm about volunteering at email or 251.344.7733 ext. 32.
